e-Marketer’s product recommendation engine provides a variety of algorithms for different needs, throughout your site. Here is a list of the most commonly used algorithms which are included in our system.
Note: If there is no known interest when the visitor first arrives, e-Marketer will choose what to display based on crowd data; as soon as there is a known interest, it will take that into account according to the algorithm chosen.
Highest Relevance
- This recommendation displays a combination of products the visitor is likely to buy or view, based on what other visitors with similar demographics and product interactions such as bought or viewed.
Bought Together
- Primarily for product pages, displays items most frequently bought by those who bought the item currently being viewed.
Likely to Buy
- Primarily for product pages, displays items frequently bought by those who viewed the item currently being viewed.
Likely to View
- Primarily for product pages, displays items frequently viewed by those who viewed the current product.
Cross-sale Cart Recommendation
- Items most frequently bought together with items currently in the visitor’s cart.
Buy It Again
- Displays a list of past 15 items the visitor bought, in chronological order.
View It Again
- Displays a list of items the visitor viewed in the past, in chronological order.
In Your Cart
- Displays a list of items in the visitor’s cart right now.
Most Frequently Bought with Cart
- Great for cart pages, displays items which were most frequently bought together with items currently in the visitor’s cart.
New In Stock
- Displays items that are new in stock, based on visitor’s ranked interests.
Recently Discounted
- Displays items recently lowered in price, based on visitor’s ranked interests.
Popular from Most Recent Interest
- Displays a combination of items most bought/viewed, based on the visitor’s single most recent interest.
Popular from Recent Interests
- Displays a combination of items most bought/viewed, based on the visitor’s ranked interests.
Price Recently Changed
- Displays items which have recently changed in price, based on the visitor’s ranked Interests.
Most popular based on gender/age
- Displays a combination of items most bought/viewed by those of the same gender and age group as the visitor. Requires age/gender associations in the product feed, and also requires that e-Marketer acquires the visitor’s age & gender from FB, CRM, or using data grabbing.
Additional Features
Direct Add to Cart
- You can set e-Marketer recommendations to include add-to-cart buttons which will add the products directly to their cart, without linking to the product listing page. You can also set them to only take visitors to the PLP if the product requires customization (such as selecting size, color, etc.).
Display as Popup
- Any recommendations in e-Marketer can also be set to display as popups, with any type of display scenario, including exit popup. This allows you to show the visitor items they may be interested in before they bounce, or at other key times such as upon idle or scroll-to-bottom.
